Sosa is the founder of Sosa, Bromley, Aguilar & Associates, now Bromley Communications, the largest Hispanic advertising agency in the U.S. He is an acknowledged expert in Hispanic consumer and voter behavior.
Sosa has served as Hispanic media advisor in seven Republican presidential races beginning with Ronald Reagan in ’80 and ‘84, George H. W. Bush in ’88 a and ‘92, George W. Bush on 2000 and 2004 and John McCain in ‘08. In the spring of 2001, he was a Fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University. In the corporate sector, Sosa’s ad agency nationally represented Coca-Cola, Anheuser- Busch, Burger King, American Airlines, Procter and Gamble, Sprint, Western Union, U.S. Army, among others.
Lionel was named “One of the 25 most influential Hispanics in America” by Time Magazine in 2005 and is a member of the Texas Business Hall of Fame. He is the author of Think and Grow Rich, a Latino Choice, published in 2006 by Random House, and The Americano Dream: How Latinos Can Achieve Success in Business and in Life, published in 1998 by Dutton. He co-authored El Vaquero Real-The Original American Cowboy, published by Bright Sky Press in 2008.
Sosa serves on the Board of Directors of QuePasa.com, the largest bilingual online community in the country, as well as SiTV, the leading 24/7 cable television channel in English targeted to Latinos Lionel has served on the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System, the Board of Trustees for the University of the Incarnate Word, the Boards of Sesame Workshop, creators of Sesame Street, ACT (American College Testing) and PBS, the Public Broadcasting System. He chaired both the United Way of San Antonio and the San Antonio Symphony.
The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio awarded an honorary PhD in Humanities to Sosa in 1995.
